Location
Lat 47°28'7.91"N Long 119°26'40.10"E  Located in western Manchuria, present day China near the border with Mongolia. Also known as "Handagai Gacha".

To the west is the Khalkhin Gol. Located to the north-west was a track to Chingchunmiao. To the northwest was Nomonhan. In early 1939, the Paichengtzu-Arshaan Rail Road connected Arshan to Handagai terminated here.

Wartime History
During May - September 1939, used by the Japanese Army as a staging area during Battle of Khalkhin Gol / Nomonhan Incident.

A railroad line (under construction during 1939?) ran from Handagai to the southeast to Arshaan.

A rough road connected Handagai to Chiangchunmiao, but became a muddy during the rainy season from the middle of June onward. Depsite repairs, two thirds or forty kilometers were subject to flooding and vehicles often sank to their undercarriage.

According to the Japanese, Soviet aircraft flew over Handagai as early as May 18, 1939.

During early September, fighting continued in this area.
