John Douglas reports:
"In 2001, Gusap, eathworks wise, is intact. Two strips - grassed, 180 revetments, most aluminium salvaged, but plenty of concrete slabs, iron debris. Area only half explored though. Found 10-12 small bulldozers, all with upper engine gone. I think they are Cletracs. Also two small carryalls [I think] and a pair of jeep bodies,12 large fuel tanks [half tear drop shape-about 500-1000 gals] that must fit under the fuselage of bombers [A-20 cargo pods according to Michael Claringbould], wrecked GMCs etc. Dumpu strip is just down the road."
