Location
The Batanes Island Group (Batanes Islands) is located in Batanes Province in the Philippines. Also incorrectly spelled Batan Island Group or Batan Islands for Batan Island the largest island in the group. To the north is the Bashi Channel and beyond the south coast of Taiwan (Formosa). To the east is the Philippine Sea. To the south is the Ballintang Channel and beyond the Babuyan Island Group (Babuyan Islands) and the north coast of Luzon approximately 120 away. To the west is the South China Sea.
