Location
Waikiki is a beach front neighborhood of Honolulu, located on the southern coast of Oahu.

Wartime History
After the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941 Waikiki beach was fortified with barbed wire in case of a Japanese invasion. During the war, the beach front hotels were used by American servicemen for rest and recuperation.

Today
Waikiki one of the most popular tourist beaches on Oahu.
