Gun History Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) as 75mm anti-aircraft gun Type 88 (1928) serial number unknown. This gun was transported to Wewak in New Guinea. Wartime History This gun was emplaced on a ridge to the south of Boram Airfield. Wreckage Until 1971, this gun remained in situ. In 1971 this gun was salvaged by a Japanese veterans group "memorial society for the victims of all wars" and exported to Japan. Display During August 1972 this gun was donated to Yasukuni Shrine and placed on display at Yūshūkan (Yasukuni Museum). The gun is displayed on a pedistal with the barrel angled at roughly 45° and the base legs cut or removed. Contribute
