December 3, 1943
(5th AF) a B-24 bombs a large transport near New Hanover.

February 5, 1944
(5th AF) B-25s on armed reconnaissance in the Bismarck Sea claim 1 freighter sunk; others bomb wrecked ships off New Hanover.

February 16, 1944
(5th AF) 40+ B-25s attack a convoy off New Hanover

February 17, 1944
(5th AF) 16 B-25s claim two surface vessels and a submarine sunk off New Hanover.

February 21, 1944
(5th AF) B-24s attack shipping off New Hanover, sinking the Kokai Maru and Kowa Maru.
