JAAF ? Sentai |
Aircraft History Built by Mitsubishi. Delivered to the Japanese Air Air Force (JAAF) as Army Type 4 Heavy Bomber Hiryu / Ki-67 Peggy manufacture number unknown. Wartime History Assigned to an unknown Sentai. Likely, assigned to the 98th Hiko Sentai based at Lingayen Airfield on Luzon. This bomber was destroyed on the ground at Lingayen Airfield. Wreckage On January 9, 1945 captured by U.S. Army at Lingayen Airfield. Afterwards, the wreckage was photographed. Tony Feredo adds: "The photo is a Ki-67 Peggy possibly from the 98th Sentai and looks 90% that this was taken at Lingayen Airfield as the unit was also based there. The color scheme of this aircraft was likely the late time brown over light gray scheme."
