Location Oahu (O'ahu) is the third largest of the Hawaii Islands located roughly the center of the island chain and the most populous. Prewar and during World War II part of the Territory of Hawaii. Today part of the State of Hawaii in the United States. Oahu Locations Honolulu located on the southern coast of Oahu. Waikiki beach front neighborhood of Honolulu. Pearl Harbor located on the southern coast of Oahu U.S. Navy (USN) anchorage attacked on December 7, 1941. Ford Island located at the center of Pearl Harbor. West Loch located at the western edge of Pearl Harbor. Sand Island (Detention, Kush) located at the entrance to Pearl Harbor. Barber's Point located on the southern coast of Oahu to the west of Pearl Harbor. Ewa located on the southern coast of Oahu to the west of Pearl Harbor. Aiea located in the center of Oahu includes Fort Shafter. Wahiawa located near the center of Oahu includes Schofield Barracks. Mount Tantalus (Tantalus, Puʻu ʻōhiʻa) located in the Koʻolau Range north of Honolulu. Kaneohe (Kāneʻohe) located on the northern coast of Oahu bordering Kaneohe Bay. Kaneohe Bay (Kāneʻohe Bay) located on the northern coast of Oahu. Diamond Head located on the southern coast to the east of Honolulu. Oahu Airfields Honolulu Airfield (John Rodgers Field) today as Honolulu International Airport (Daniel K. Inouye Airport). Hickam Field (Hickam AFB) located west of Honolulu today part of Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH). Luke Field (Ford Island Airfield) located on Ford Island in Pearl Harbor. Barber's Point Field (Kalaeloa Airport) located at Barber's Point on the southern coast of Oahu. Ewa Field located at Ewa on the southern coast disused today. Bellows Field (Bellows Station) prewar secondary airfield still in use today as Bellows Air Force Station MCTAB. Wheeler Field prewar secondary airfield near Wahiawa across from Schofield Barracks. Waiele Field (Waiele Gulch Army Airfield) located adjacent to Wheeler Field Kaneohe Field (NAS Kaneohe) borders Kaneohe Bay still in use today as Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH). Kahuku Airfield (Kuilima Air Park) prewar airfield used postwar as Kuilima Air Park. Haleiwa Field located on Oahu disused today.
