Wartime History
This tank was one of two captured by the US Army 40th Division. [ Likely captured on Luzon ]. Brought back by the Division to California as 'war booty'.

Displayed in California. Transferred to the George S. Patton Museum of Cavalry & Armor where it was externally restored and is displayed today. The 37mm main gun was salvaged by Warren Slessenger from Ponape in 1968 and was later donated to the Patton Museum for installation as its main gun.

Thanks to Daniel Sebby, curator of the California State Military Museum and Warren Slessenger for additional information.
