Wartime History
Sunk on December 4, 1943 by Lexington planes after entering the Kawajalein Atoll North Atoll through Mellu Pass, sinking in the northern atoll. 200 yards west of Sand Island along the west reef three miles from Roi.

Almost all the wooded hull and superstructure are gone. Engines, fuel tanks and other equipment is all that remains on the sandy bottom at depth of 90'. Two 6 foot anchors are near by, as are several unexploded depth charges. Bottles, navigation instruments and other artifacts have been found in the seabed around the wreck.
