Ship History
Built at the Kure Navy Yard in Kure, Japan. Laid down on October 27, 1931. Launched March 14, 1934. Comissioned July 28, 1935.

On July 19, 1944 departed Truk on a troop transport run with a task group: including Nisshin, cruisers Tone and Chikuma, and Agano with destroyers Hatsuzuki, SUZUTSUKI, ARASHI, HAGIKAZE and ISOKAZE. On July 21, 1944 arrived at Rabaul and disembarks the troops.

Sinking History
On October 25, 1944 sunk during the Battle of the Surigao Strait. Officially removed from the Navy list on December 20, 1944.
