The Udvar-Hazy Center was opened in December 2003 to displays the Smithsonian Institution National Air & Space Museum (NASM) aircraft collection. The downtown National Air & Space Museum (NASM) displays more of the collection. The Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hangar where aircraft restoration and repairs are performed on the collection. Also, the National Air & Space Museum archives and researcher center. Previously, many of the aircraft on display at the Udvar-Hazy Center were in storage at the Paul E. Garber Facility
