Location
The General Zukov Museum is located outside Ulanbaataar in Mongolia. This museum is devoted to Soviet Red Army General Georgy K. Zhukov and his residence. Outside are several large mosaics murals.
Remodeled during 2007-2009, the museum reopened for the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Khalkhin Gol / Nomonhan incident. Signage is minimal and in Mongolian and Russian only.
Inside, the museum includes the General's desk and other exhibits. Inside a display case are several captured Japanese weapons including a pistol, NCO sword and Type 11 Light Machine Gun. Also on display is a wheeled Maxim machine gun, Degtyaryov light machine gun and modern RPD machine gun. Another case includes relics collected from the battlefield including bottles and helmets.
