American missions against Saigon

January 12, 1945
(USN) Task Force 38 aircraft strike the coast o Indochina as far south as Saigon catching ships in the harbor and in coastal convoys with devastating results, sinking 12 tankers, 20 passenger and cargo vessels and numerous small combatant ships, totalling 149,000 tons.

January 26, 1945
(20th AF) Mission 30: B-29s mine Saigon.

January 27, 1945
(20th AF) B-29s based in India hit the navy yard and arsenal at Saigon

February 7, 1945
(20th AF) Mission 34: 67 B-29s are dispatched to hit Saigon; 44 bomb the primary target (11 drop prematurely and 33 hit a residential section)

March 28, 1945
(20th AF) Mission 47: B-29s mine the waters at Saigon

April 20, 1945
(FEAF) Lost on a mission against Saigon is B-24J "Patches" 42-73474

April 22, 1945
(FEAF) B-24s hit shipping and harbor installations at Saigon

April 23, 1945
(FEAF) B-24s bomb the naval base at Saigon.

April 25, 1945
(FEAF) B-24s bomb the harbor at Saigon

April 28, 1945
(FEAF) B-25s sink about 20,000 tons of merchant shipping in Saigon Harbor

May 3, 1945
(FEAF) Saigon is bombed by B-24s, which greatly damage a boatyard and oil storage areas.

May 4, 1945
(FEAF) B-24s heavily damage oil installations at Saigon.

May 21, 1945
(FEAF) P-38s strafe railroad rolling stock in the Saigon area.

May 28, 1945
(FEAF) B-24s again bomb the railroad yards east of Saigon at Phan Rang and Muong Man.

June 12, 1945
(FEAF) B-24s bomb railroad yards at Saigon.
