Location
Lat 8° 20' 56S Long 160° 33' 44E  Afufu village is located at the northern top of Malaita Island.

Wartime History
During the Guadalcanal campaign, the Japanese established a small coastwatcher station near Afufu village. Detected by the Americans, the outpost was attacked on November 5, 1942 when the 2nd Marines attacked the outpost and killed twenty including the crew of a D3A1 Val ditched August 24, 1942 at Malu'u.
