Lat 9° 15' 0S Long 159° 40' 60E  Visale is located at Cape Esperence on the northern coast of Guadalcanal. Borders Visale Bay. Nearby is Takolenduna.

Wartime History
During the Guadalcanal campaign, Visale was occupied by the Japanese until early February 1943.

Visale Catholic Mission
Founded in 1904 by the Catholic missionaries. Occupied by the Japanese, it was used as a radio station location by the Japanese Army. Bombed by Americans and destroyed. During the Japanese occupation, SBD Dauntless piloted by Geiger dropped a 1,000 lbs bomb through the roof of the mission. Postwar, the mission was rebuilt and still in use today.
