Location Lat 8° 44' 7S Long 158° 12' 17E Sombiro is located at sea level on the northeast coast Gatukai Island (Nggatokae) in the New Gerogia Island Group (New Georgia Islands) in Western Province in the Solomon Islands. Also known as Sombiro Loka. Wartime History During the Pacific War, Sombiro village was bombed and two large bomb craters remain to this day. According to Pastor Ghemu the bombs were dropped by TBF Avengers.
