Location American Samoa is an Unincorporated Organized Territory of the United States of America (USA). American Samoa includes the eastern islands of the Samoa Island Group (Samoa Islands) including the main islands of Tutuila Island ((Tuituila) and Tau Island. Surrounded by the South Pacific Ocean. To the west is the International Date Line and Samoa (Western Samoa). Wartime History During the early months of the Pacific War, American Samoa became an U.S. staging area.
