Location
Utuan Island is part of the Duke of York Island Group (Duke of York Islands). Also known as Utan Island. To the northwest is Ulu Island (Mauke, Pig), north is Duke of York Island and to the east is Mioko Island. Today located in East
New Britain Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Wartime History
During late January 1942 occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War until the official surrender of Japan.
