Location Lat 5° 0'21.31"S Long 151° 14' 57.86"E Ulamona is located on the northern coast of New Britain near Ubili. Offshore to the northwest is Lolobau Island. Prewar The Catholic mission established a timber sawmill at this location that remained in operation until the start of the Pacific War. Wartime History Occupied by the Japanese during early 1942. During the Japanese occupation of New Britain the sawmill was possibly used by the Japanese. D3A Val Force landed or crashed on the beach near Ulamona B-17E "Georgia Peach" Serial Number 41-24454 Pilot Woodard shot down June 13, 1943 discovered 1947 Contribute
