    Sag Sag West New Britain Province Papua New Guinea (PNG)

Lat 5° 34' 56S Long 148° 19' 55E  Sag Sag is located on the coast of New Britain. Prewar, an Episcopal mission was established at this location.

Wartime History
During 1943, used by the Japanese as a staging point between bases on New Britain and New Guinea. Barges would hide at this location during daylight hours before crossing to New Guinea at night.

Sag Sag Agulupella Trail
A  trail ran east-west from Sag Sag to Agulupella and Natamo Point. After the discovery of the trail, a composite company from the United States Marine Corps (USMC) 7th Marines commanded by Captain Parish landed at Sag Sag, and advanced inland along the track.
