Lat 9° 31' 3S Long 147° 12' 58E  Pari village is located at the western edge of Joyce Bay on the southern coast of New Guinea in present day National Capital District (NCD) in Papua New Guinea (PNG) at an elevation of 6' above sea level. Located to the northwest is Port Moresby. To the north is Stokes Ridge (Maata Ridge).

Prewar, the Pari Road connected Port Moresby to the western edge of Kila Drome (Kila Kila) facilitating road access to Joyce Bay and Pari.

During the Pacific War, Pari village was in close proximity to Allied bases and camp areas and was frequently visited by servicemen to interact with villagers, watch sing sing dances or to purchase artifacts.
