Lat 4° 12' 0S Long 152° 11' 60E  Nordup is located to the northeast of Rabaul on the coast of New Britain. Also known as "Nodup".

Wartime History
After midnight of January 23, 1942 the 144th Infantry Regiment 'South Seas Detachment' landed at Nordup and several other locations around Rabaul. Occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the war until September 1945.

May 29 - June 24, 1944

May 29, 1944
(13th AF) Almost 100 B-25s, P-38s, P-39s and a variety of USN aircraft pound the Rabaul area, with AAF aircraft concentrating on the Nordup supply area.

June 2, 1944
(13th AF) 24 B-24s pound the Nordup area

June 6, 1944
(13th AF) P-38s bomb a supply dump near Nordup

June 22, 1944
(13th AF) B-25s bomb Nordup

June 24, 1944
(13th AF) B-24s, B-25s and fighters, along with other Allied aircraft hit buildings at Nordup.
