Location
Mount Lawes is a feature with an elevation of 1460' / 445m inland from the southern coast of New Guinea. Also known as "Mt. Lawes". In the local language known as "Bisogo". The highest point of the mountain is 445 meters in elevation. To the northwest is Little Mount Lawes, a smaller feature. To the south is Port Moresby. During the Pacific War, referred to as "Mount Schwimmer" by American personnel stationed at nearby Schwimmer Drome (14 Mile Drome, Laloki).
