Lat 4° 40' 19S Long 152° 9' 9E Lemingi village is located in the Baining Mountains in East New Britain Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
During the Pacific War, Lemingi village was occupied by the Japanese Army.
On October 10, 1944 four USMC Corsiars from VMO-251 strafed Lemingi and huts up and down the coast dropping 500 pound bombs and expending 3,800 rounds of 50 caliber ammunition, results unobserved.
