Lat 8° 26' 60S Long 147° 13' 0E  Kosipe village at an elevation of 6,709' / 2,044m is located in the Owen Stanley Range in the Goilala District of Central Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). To the south is Woitape. To the east is Mount Albert Edward.

Kosipe rest house was built at this location.

Wartime History
During the Pacific War, the Kosipe area was on the direct flight path between Lae and Port Moresby and several aircraft crashed in the vicinity.
