Kerevat is located
to the north of the Keravat River near the western coast of East New Britain Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). To the east is Rabaul. Wartime spelling also "Karavat" or "Kerevat". Also known as Keravat plantation.
Keravat Experimental Station (Keravat Governement Experiemental Farms or Experimental Gardens) was established at this location to grow experimental strains of coconut palms. To the northwest was Keravat Plantation and to the north Tavilo Plantation planted with coconut palms harvesting copra.
Occupied by the Japanese until the end of the Pacific War. During September 1943, Kerevat Airfield was constructed to the northwest of Keravat.
