    Keravat (Karavat, Kerevat) East New Britain Province Papua New Guinea (PNG)
Location
Lat 4° 20' 60S Long 152° 1' 60E  Kerevat is located at an elevation of 193' / 58m to the north of the Keravat River near the western coast of the Gazelle Peninsula of East New Britain Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). To the east is Rabaul. Wartime spelling also "Karavat" or "Kerevat" or as "Keravat Plantation".

Prewar
Keravat Experimental Station (Keravat Government Experimental Farms or Experimental Gardens) was established at this location to grow experimental strains of coconut palms. To the northwest was Keravat Plantation and to the north Tavilo Plantation planted with coconut palms harvesting copra.

Wartime History
Occupied by the Japanese until the end of the Pacific War. During September 1943, Kerevat Airfield was constructed to the northwest of Keravat. Attacked by Allied aircraft between June 1943 until late 1944.
