5th AF Nov 18, 1943

Dallman Harbor borders Wewak (Wewak Point) to the east and Cape Wom to the west. Also known as "West Wewak Harbor" or "Dalman Harbor".

Wartime History
Occupied by the Japanese on December 18, 1942 and developed into a base area. Liberated during May 1945, Australian Army troops advancing from the west assaulted Wewak Point

On November 11, 1945 the Australian Army held a Dallman Harbor beach side service led by Chaplain Howden for 2/5 Infantry Battalion for those killed during the Aitape-Wewak campaign. Afterwards, a "Wewak Regatta" was held in Dallman Harbor using boats built from salvaged materials and were raced in the harbor.
