Location Boram Bay borders the north coast of New Guinea. To the east is Boram (Cape Boram) and beyond Mission Point and Wewak. To the south is Boram Beach, Boram Plantation and beyond Boram Airfield. To the east is Cape Moem. Beyond to the north is the Bismarck Sea. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Territory of New Guinea. Today, located in the Wewak District of East Sepik Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Borneo Maru Class Shipwreck Sunk into Boram Bay to the north of Boram Beach was the shipwreck of a "Borneo Maru Class" cargo vessel roughly 5,864 tons reportedly sunk September 2, 1943. Likely this shipwreck was Nagato Maru. It is unclear what happened to this wreck, most likely scrapped or otherwise removed. Contribute
