Location
Lat 14° 35' 60N Long 120° 58' 60  Located at the northern end of Manila. Sometimes abbreviated as "Sta. Cruz". Located on the right bank (northern shore) of the Pasig River between Tondo, Quiapo, and Sampaloc. Borders adjacent Caloocan City and Quezon City.

Wartime History
Occupied by the Japanese during 1942 until early February 1945. During the Battle of Manila on February 4, 1945 retreating Japanese forces burned this area of the city.
