Location Davao del Sur Province is located on the on the south east coast of Mindanao bordering Davao Gulf. Until 1967, part of Davao Province until subdivided into three provinces creating Davao del Sur Province. Borders Davao del Norte Province to the northeast. Padada Located inland from the coast bordering Davao Gulf. Libby Located inland from the coast bordering Davao Gulf. Davao (Davao City) Port city and harbor located on the southeast coast of Mindanao Malalag Bay Bay used as a seaplane anchorage during early December 1941. Sarangani Bay Bay located at the far south of Mindanao, located 75 miles to the south-west of Davao. MacArthur had originally planned to land here as the first landing in his Philippine liberation campaign. Instead, it turned out to be the final amphibious landing of the Mindanao campaign July 12, 1945 by a battalion of the 24th Infantry Division, who landed unopposed and joined with guerrilla forces and proceeded inland to attack 2,000 Japanese troops isolated in this area in fighting for two weeks.
