    Maug Islands (Ma'ok) Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands USA
Location
Maug Islands are three small islands in the Northern Islands Municipality at the northern end of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) in the Mariana Island Group (Mariana Islands) in the United States of America (USA). Known as "Ma'ok" in Chamorro. To the north is the Zealandia Bank Island (Farallon de Torres, Piedras de Torres, Papaungan) and to the south is Sarigan Island.

Wartime History
On February 1, 1941 off the Maug Islands, German supply ship Münsterland rendezvous and transfers a Nakajima E8N Dave purchased in Japan to Auxiliary Cruiser Orion.

American missions against Maug (Ma'ok)
August 28, 1944–September 3, 1944

During June 1945, an unauthorised U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) landing was initiated by Lt. Col. Chalfant who sent a MP battalions to Agrihan Island to mop up, but were unable to find any Japanese defenders but saw evidence of Japanese gardens and a radio tower damaged by U.S. Navy shelling.
