The Maldive Islands is an island chain located in the Laccadive Sea in the Indian Ocean, 250 miles southwest of India and 430 miles southwest of Sri Lanka (Ceylon). It includes twenty-six atolls, oriented north-south, that lie between Minicoy Island (the southernmost part of Lakshadweep, India) and the Chagos Archipelago.

Addu Atoll (Seenu)
Southern atoll in the Maldives, includes the islands of Hulhudhoo, Maradhoo, Meedhooo, Feydhoo, Gan, Maradhoo-Feydhoo, Hithadhoo and many smaller islands ringing a deep lagoon.
