Lat 40° 28' 57N Long 127° 6' 58E Also known as Ryutan-ri,Ryŭtan-ri,-ni or in Korean 리,류담리. Located at 3,559' to the west of the Chosin Reservoir (Changjin).

Wartime History
During the Korean War, Yudam-ni was occupied by the United States Marine Coprs 5th Marines and 7th Marines (less). Surrounded by Chinese Army forces, during the night of November 27 until the morning of November 29, attached by the 79th Division and 80th Division forcing the Marines to withdraw to Hagaru-ri.
