Lat 35° 10′ 46″ N Long 129° 4′ 32″ E  Busan is located on the southeastern corner of the Korean Peninsula in South Korea. Known to the Japanese as "Busan". Known to the Allies as "Pusan". Other names include Tsau-liang-hai, Fousan, Fuzan or Fusan.

Pacific War
During 1910-1945 occupied by the Japanese. Bombed by American aircaft during July-August 1945.

Korean War
During the Korean War, Busan was one of two cities in South Korea that were never captured by North Korean forces, and became a large refugee camp during the war and became the temporary capital of the Republic of Korea. During the summer of 1950, United Nations forces established the "Pusan Perimeter" around the city.
