Location
Mokmer villiage is located on the southern coast of Biak Island. Borders Yapen Strait (Japen Strait) to the south. Connected by the Borokoe Road. To the west are Borokoe (Boroekoe, Borokoe) and Sorido (Sorrido, Insirom, Insrom).

Wartime History
During 1942, occupied by the Japanese. By early 1944, the Japanese constructed Mokmer Airfield at this location.

On May 27, 1944 an amphibious landing was made at Bosnik by the U.S. Army 41st Infantry Division. Afterwards, the Borokoe Airfield was expanded and repaired by the Americans and the Borokoe area was developed into a base area to support the Biak Campaign and the nearby airfield operations.

Today
Bits of landing craft and remains of docks are still visible in the area. The beach is popular for swimming and diving.
