    Yamdena Island (Jamdena) Tanimbar Island Group Indonesia

Location
Yamdena Island is the largest island in the Tanimbar Island Group (Tanimbar Islands). Prewar and during the Pacific War known as as "Jamdena Island" and was part of the Dutch East Indies. Today located in the Western Southeast Maluku Regency in Maluku Province (Molucca Islands) of Indonesia. Today known as "Yamdena".

Wartime History
During 1942, Yamdena Island was occupied by the Japanese forces until then official surrender of Japan in September 1945. Between 1943 until early 1945 attacked by Allied aircraft based in northern Australia.

Saumlaki (Saumlakki)
Lat 7° 59' 17S Long 131° 18' 20E  Saumlaki is located near the southern coast of Yamdena Island (Jamdena) bordering Saumlaki Bay.

Saumlaki Bay (Saumlakki Bay)
Borders Saumlaki Bay and used as an Allied seaplane base in the early months of the Pacific War.
