    West Papua Province (Papua Barat, West Irian Jaya)  Indonesia
Location
West Papua Province is the western portion of New Guinea. Prewar, during the Pacific War known as Dutch New Guinea (DNG) in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). In 1961, after annexation by Indonesia renamed "West Papua". In 1969 renamed West Irian (Irian Barat). In 1973 during the Suharto administration, renamed Irian Jaya and was also known as "West Irian Jaya". In 2002, renamed West Papua Province (Papua Barat) and divided divided into three regency (kapubaten): Sorong Regency, Manokwari Regency and Fak-Fak Regency. By 2010, further divided into ten regency (kapubaten) plus autonomous city (kota) Sorong (Sorong City). Borders Papua Province to the east.

Vogelkop Peninsula (Bird's Head Peninsula)  located on the northwest tip of New Guinea.
Doom Island  located off Sorong.
Su Islands (Soe)  pair of islands off the north coast of western New Guinea.
Cape Waios (False Cape)  located on the north coast of New Guinea.
Jefman Island (Efman)  small island near Sorong.
Tambrauw Regency
Amsterdam Island (Mios Su)  located to the Su Islands (Soe Islands).
Middleburg Island  located to the Su Islands (Soe Islands) includes Middleburg Airfield.
Sansapor (Cape Sansapor, Sausapor)  located on the north coast of New Guinea Sanspor Airfield (Mar Drome).
Mar  located near Sansapor on the north coast of Western New Guinea.
Manokwari Regency
Manokwari  located on the northwest tip of Western New Guinea includes Manokwari Airfield.
Moemi (Noemi, Mumi)  located on the coast of Western New Guinea includes Moemi Airfield.
Waren (Wareng)   located on the north coast of Western New Guinea includes Warren Airfield.
Ransiki (Ranasiki)   lcoated on the north coast of Western New Guinea includes Ransiki Airfield.
Sorong Selatan Regency (South Sorong Regency)
Moegim (Moegem, Mugim)  lcoated on the north coast of Western New Guinea.
Fakfak Regency
Fakfak (Fak-Fak)  located on the north coast of Western New Guinea.
Kokas (Kaukas)  located on the north coast of Western New Guinea.
Sagan (Sagun)  located near the north coast of Western New Guinea.
Otawir (Otawiri, Otawari, Ottawiri)  located on the north coast of Western New Guinea include Otawir Airfield.
Teluk Bintuni Regency (Bintuni Bay Regency)
Bentoni Bay (Teloek Bentoni)  located on the southern coast of Western New Guinea near Babo.
MacCluer Gulf (McCluer)   located on the southern coast of Western New Guinea near Babo.
Babo  located on the southern shore of Maccluer Gulf, Babo Airfield.
Geboken Island  located inside MacCluer Gulf.
Mongosah (Morgosah, Mongosah, Mongosa)  located on the southern coast of New Guinea.
Teluk Wondama Regency (Wondama Bay Regency)
Ransiki (Ranasiki)  located on wesern New Guinea.
Rouw Island  located off western New Guinea.
Kaimana Regency
Utarom (Urarom, Oerarom, Urarom, Rome)  located on the southern coast near Utarom.

Kaimana Bay  located on the southern coast of New Guinea near Utarom.
Simora  located on the southern coast of New Guinea to the south of Utarom.
Raja Ampat Regency
Raja Ampat Islands (Raja Ampat Group)  located off New Guinea bordering the the Sele Strait.
Waigeo Island  located to the northwest of the Vogelkop Peninsula.
Salawati Island  located to the west of New Guinea.
Batanta Island  located to the north of Salawati Island.
Misool Island  located to the west of New Guinea.
Kaboe Island (Pulau Yefkabu)  located in the Raja Ampat Islands.
Asia Island Group (Asia Atoll)  located to the north of the western tip of New Guinea.
