Lat 5° 46' 56S Long 154° 45' 6E  Kunua village is located near the northwest coast of Bougainville Island at an elevation of 164' / 49m. Also known as Sarime or Konua. Kunua is located in Kunua Rural LLG, North Bougainville District, Autonomous Region of Bougainville (Bougainville Province) in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Prewar
Sarime Plantation was planted with coconut palms harvesting copra.

Wartime History
Occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the war. On December 1, 1943 six B-25's bombed Sarime Plantation.

Pilot Brown crashed February 22, 1944 wreckage found afterwards and remains recovered
