Brunei is located on the island of Borneo. Apart from its coastline with the South China Sea, it is completely surrounded by the state of Sarawak State in Malaysia Borneo (East Malaysia). Brunei is the remnant of a very powerful sultanate that became independent from Great Britain in 1984.

Wartime History
During the Pacific War, occupied by the Japanese. On July 1, 1945 US Navy ships land the Australian 9th Division made an amphibious landing at Brunei Bay also Labuan Island and Muara Island.
