Lat 1° 16' 60S Long 116° 49' 60E Balikpapan Harbor borders Balikpapan on southeast coast of Borneo. Today located in East Kalimantan Province on Borneo in Indonesia.

Wartime History
Occupied by the Japanese until July 1, 1945. Attacked by Allied aircraft between 1942–1945. PB4Y's from Patrol Bombing Squadron 109 launched two bat glide bombs against enemy shipping in Balikpapan Harbor. This was the first combat use of the only automatic homing bomb to be used in World War II.
