Italian POW Camp During World War II, a POW camp was established at Monto for civilians of Italian and German decent from the area, who were interned here. Today, only the cooking area remains. Kroombit Tops The Kroombit Tops area is today part of the Kroombit Tops National Park located to the northwest of Monto.
