Italian POW Camp
During World War II, a POW camp was established at Monto for civilians of Italian and German decent from
the area, who were interned here. Today, only the cooking area remains.

McGlaughland Property / Yarrol
Located on private property, on the border between
Monto and Yarrol, also known as "Magpie". The landowner and
rancher Jeff McGlaughland keeps a visitor log of people who come to
visit the C-47
wreck since 1980. The graves of those aboard are in Bundaberg. A propeller
from the C-47 is displayed at the Monto RSL.
