Location
Located on the north-eastern corner of Attu Island. The Japanese referred to this location a "Asahi Bay".

Wartime History
After Japanese forces occupied Attu on June 6-7, 1942, this area was used by the Japanese as an unloading area and seaplane anchorage.

American & Japanese missions against Holtz Bay
November 7, 1942 - May 1, 1943

On May 11, 1943 US Army "northern force" landed to the north of the bay and moved inland to the southwest and southward to link up with the "southern force" at Holz Massacre Pass on May 17-18.
