Australian Army 183 Reconnaissance Flight

The Australian Army Aviation Corps, 183 Reconnaissance Flight (183 Recce Flt) was raised in 1968. During July 1969 arrived at Lae Airfield with 2 x Pilatus Porters and 4 x Bell 47 G3B1's Sioux from Australia. I remained in New Guinea, flying until January 1971. Most of the photos were taken in 1968 and 1969 using an Olympus Pen EE taking 1/2 frame 35mm color slides. It was a very small, basic camera that I could hold and operate with one hand while I was flying.
