Below the cockpit are two Japanese rising sun flags indicating aerial victory claims. On February 16, 1945 took off from USS Lexington CV-16 piloting F6F Hellcat 71445 on the first carrier aircraft mission over Tokyo and was shot down at Habu village near Narita.
