PFC Robert R.Giesige, Army Serial Number. 35549437, Army Air Corps
Robert started out at Port Moresby (APO 929) and was assigned initially to the 27th Depot Repair Squadron/ 27th Air Depot Goup, 12th April 1944. Re-assigned to the 32nd Depot Repair Squadron/ 27th Air Depot Group (APO 929) 18th April 1944.

Then finally assigned to the 5th Engine Overhaul Squadron / 27th Air Depot Group (APO 929) 25th April 1944.

Robert's records also show that he was with the 5th Engine Overhaul Squadron / 27th Air Depot Group at Finschhafen (APO 322) Unit # 1, 20th August 1944

334th Depot Repair Squadron / 27th Air Depot Group (APO 322) Unit # 1, 26th April 1945

( 5th Engine Overhaul Squadron reorganized and redesignated 334th Depot Repair Squadron per paragraph 1a, Section I, General Order # 38, Hq , FEASC, AP0 323, dated 10th April, 1945. )

Robert left Finschhafen on the 7th August 1945 and arrived at Biak on the same day, still assigned to the 334th DRS

Robert ended up with the 334th DRS at (APO 611) Haneda Airdrome, Japan when he discharged on the November 23, 1945. The next day Robert re-enlisted and spent another 20 or so years in the USAF.
