D Spennemann 1999

Wartime History
Built by Sir W. G. Armstrong Whitworth in the United Kingdom, possibly during 1900. Sold to the Japanese Navy prewar.

Wartime History
Transported to Truk. Emplaced in a shield at Sapuk on Moen Island (Weno).

Wreckage
In September 1945, this gun was abandoned and remains in situ, missing the breech block.

Locally, known as the "Singapore Gun", many incorrectly believe this gun was British made, captured by the Japanese in Singapore and transported to Moen and installed on the island. This is not true.
