IJA Justin Taylan 2006 |
Wartime History Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Army. Transported to Guadalcanal. Disassembled and carried in pieces by soldiers to to the Seahorse feature and abandoned. Wreckage This gun remained in situ with the breech missing. In 2006, both wooden wheels were missing and placed atop a A6M2 Zero drop tank to elevate the weapon. The shield and trail were present but removed. Justin Taylan adds: "The breech is missing. Two gun shields are present, both with bullet impacts and damage. According to locals, they dragged the gun up the hill from a valley to be displayed at their village. Villagers say there are two guns still in the valley below, but were 'too far' to hike down to see." Contribute
