Wartime History
Assigned to the Japanese Army. Transported to New Guinea and emplaced at Madang.

Wreckage
Mounted in a concrete square block south of Madang off on Coronation Drive south of the Coastwatchers Memorial. The gun is mounted atop a square concrete block facing eastward overlooking Astrolabe Bay.

Lori Witham adds:
"There was a violent storm around 2000, and the coral wall broke apart so that the concrete slab is now crooked and looking like it's going to fall into the ocean, but the gun is still firmly on top of the slab. The constant salt spray has rusted the gun."
