Gun History
Built by Sir W. G. Armstrong Whitworth & Co Ltd in the United Kingdom. Prewar, sold to the Japanese Navy.

Wartime History
Transported to Ponape Island. One of four guns emplaced on Temwen Island in a coastal defense fortress guarding the entrance to Madolenihmw Harbor. This gun has a shield. The breech block is removed.

Wreckage
Remains in situ. Above are the remains of a roof structure that was probably covered with camouflage. All four guns show evidence of having been partially buried after the war. This has caused severe corrosion in places. In the late 1990s, the local land owner was excavating and clearing gun emplacements, work seems to have stopped by 1999.
